Fun Fall Events at Navy Pier

Although it’s typically thought of as a summer destination, Navy Pier has activities year-round. With their recent and ongoing renovations, there are even more things to do at one of Chicago’s most popular attractions.

We’ve picked some of our favorite events happening this fall at Navy Pier.

SOFA Chicago

SOFA Chicago is an art lover’s dream. The annual event displays artists and galleries that focus on three-dimensional works. Part fine art, part decorative art, and part design, the fair features the best from across the world.

Chicago Toy and Game Fair

Leading up to the holidays, the Chicago Toy and Game Fair is the perfect place to see what’s new and fun in the world of play. It’s the largest non-hobby toy and game fair open to the public in North America. One of the coolest aspects is that attendees can meet the inventors who create these toys and games.

Harry Caray’s Tavern

Fall means football, and Chicago Bears fans can get to the game in style with a tailgate party at Harry Caray’s Tavern. Before home games you can warm up with some Miller Lite and then take a water taxi to Soldier Field.

Sequence Ch!cago

Sequence Ch!cago is a new free event series in 2017 at Navy Pier that spotlights performers from different Chicago neighborhoods. There are ten performances throughout the fall by artists who have inspired and influenced the local arts community.

One of the best ways to experience the city is with a cruise, and many of them depart from the docks at Navy Pier. These cruises range from a speedboat racing on Lake Michigan, to a more leisurely and elegant three-hour dinner cruise. They continue throughout the fall, and there are themed cruises that celebrate Halloween.

Speaking of Halloween, the new Lake Stage in Polk Brothers Park at the entrance to Navy Pier will be screening spooky movies in October. They’ll screen a double feature with movies playing at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on October 21 and 28, and there will be free first-come, first-serve treats.

There’s always a lot happening at Navy Pier, and with the improvements they’ve made it’s become even more of a must-do for any itinerary. For even more fun fall events, be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
