Hofbrauhaus is straight out of Munich, and while it’s always Oktoberfest at this Rosemont spot, they really break out the oompapa during this time of year. There will be nightly entertainment with authentic Bavarian music on-stage, a freshly brewed “Oktoberfestbier” inspired by the original Hofbrauhaus, and daily food specials.

Revolution Brewery is getting into the spirit of things with their own street fest in Logan Square. There’ll be fresh Oktoberfest beer, live music, and sausages from Dönerman and the Radler. It’s the first time they’ve taken their party outside, and it’s bound to be quite the event. Head to Pilsen for the one-day “Blocktoberfest” courtesy of Dusek’s. This family-friendly block party will have punch for the kids in addition to the standard Oktoberfest fare.

If you’re in it for the beer, Timothy O’Toole’s goes from Irish to German with 25-ounce jumbo steins of Oktoberfest brews for $9.5 and pints for $6.50. Pair them with some German-inspired fare, including pork schnitzel and warm pretzels. They’re located right in Streeterville just off the Magnificent Mile.
