Chill Out this Fall at these Chicago Pumpkin Patches

One of the best things about fall is going to a pumpkin patch. These outdoor festivals are jam-packed with fun, and it’s a great way to get outside for a day and enjoy the cooler temperatures.

You can take a hayride and make your way through a corn maze, and some have petting zoos, carnival rides, and zip lines. If you’re looking to get out of the city, we’ve found the best pumpkin patches in the Chicago area.

Harvest Tyme Pumpkin Patch

Harvest Tyme Pumpkin Patch is a family-owned farm in Lowell, Indiana. You can pick your own, or choose from a selection of pre-picked pumpkins. There’s no charge to enter and a small fee for the corn maze, pony rides, and some of the attractions. Decorate your home with their selection of corn stalks, hay bales, and mums, and try your luck at the carnival games.

Siegel’s Cottonwood Farms

Siegel’s Cottonwood Farms is a full-day affair that has over thirty attractions, including a mountain slide, Bubbe Ducks Waddle Races, and Kaden’s Birdie Barracks. There’s even a play area of kid-sized cedar birdhouses. Each year there’s a different theme for their 15-acre corn maze, and this year they celebrate Superman’s 80th anniversary.

Bengston’s Pumpkin Fest

For 38 years, Bengston’s Pumpkin Fest has been known for their cider doughnuts and barbecue. One taste of either and you’ll know why they’ve been around for so long. Their petting zoo is also a favorite since you can see baby goats and other farm animals. Stop in their selfie booth to snap a pic, and then take a spin on the Barnyard Dance Cow Coaster and hunt for gems in the mining sluice.

Goebbert’s Pumpkin Patch and Farm

Goebbert’s Pumpkin Patch and Farm needs two locations because they’re so popular. Whether you visit the one in South Barrington or the one in Hampshire, you’ll enjoy their giant pumpkin-eating dinosaur and their giraffes. You can feed these long-necked mammals at eye level, which will be fun for both of you.

Don’t let the cooler weather “squash” your fall fun. Check out these pumpkin patches near Chicago! Be sure to show us your fun farm day on Facebook and Instagram!
