Some offer unique options and others charge just a dollar for these hand-held wonders. Here are some of the best places for Taco Tuesday near the Loop.

Flacos Tacos is known for authentic Mexican cuisine and everything is fresh and house-made. Each week they offer a special taco, and on Tuesdays it’s only a buck. You can also get a $4 craft brew, because what’s better with tacos than beer?

Broken English Taco Pub is one of the newest restaurants from the Stefani Group. Located in the Loop near Millennium Park, you can get al pastor, carne asada, tinga de pollo, carnitas, and more. Come in during happy hour and you can get your tacos for just $2.

For an upscale Taco Tuesday experience you’ll want to visit Mercadito. You can get two for $7.50 at this swanky River North spot either during their happy hour or after 9 p.m. for you night owls. Options include chicken and steak, or you could also get lobster or red snapper.

Tucked into Nacional 27, Tallboy Taco has grilled skirt steak and papas tacos; pork al pastor with marinated pork shoulder, onions, and pineapple; and a grilled shrimp taco with kale, pickled onions, and a lime vinaigrette. You can pair your choice with aguas frescas or with $5 sangria.

Go all out with Moe’s Cantina’s all-you-can-eat taco special for $24. Dig into their tacos al carbon, made with chopped sirloin steak, yellow onions, cilantro, and salsa tostada. You might also want to try the de carnitas con cactus, a taco made with braised pork, cactus slaw with red onions, tomatoes, radish, cured peppers, and cilantro. Pay a little more and you can include their lobster tacos. They’ve also got a sangria happy hour special.
