Where to Eat Thanksgiving Dinner in the Loop

Thanksgiving is nearly here. The holiday centers around a festive meal, but not everyone wants to prepare a big feast, and nobody wants to clean up after everyone is gone.

If you’re looking for a place to celebrate and leave the work to someone else, there are several restaurants open in downtown Chicago so you can enjoy spending time with your loved ones. We’ve found four places you can eat Thanksgiving dinner in the Loop so you don’t have to cook.

Cochon Volant

You won’t miss out any of the classics when you gather for Cochon Volant’s family-style dinner. They’ll have all the standards, like green bean casserole, dressing, roasted turkey, and pumpkin pie.  The prix fixe meal is $85 per person and they’re open from 11am to 8pm on Thanksgiving day.

Seven Lions

The warm and inviting atmosphere of Seven Lions is the perfect place to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner. Located across the street from Millennium Park and the Art Institute of Chicago, their doors will be open from noon until 8pm. The $49 menu offers three courses. Choices include a traditional turkey entree served with stuffing, green beans, whipped potatoes, and gravy. Vegetarians can dig into a roasted cauliflower steak with Israeli couscous, yogurt, and a golden raisin pine nut relish.

Mercat a la Planxa

Put a Spanish twist on your Thanksgiving with dinner at Mercat a la Planxa. You can get their traditional tapas or try their spin on the holiday classics. Mashed potatoes get dressed up with black truffles and celery root, and the stuffing is made with porcini mushrooms and pecans. Even the turkey forgoes the normal trussing and is prepared sous vide with foie gras jus. Thanksgiving hours are 11am to 9pm, and the menu is a la carte.

Travelle Kitchen + Bar

Travelle Kitchen + Bar gives you Thanksgiving two ways. They’re serving a family-style brunch buffet from 11am to 3pm with carving stations, a salmon smokehouse station, and a variety of favorites for $145 per person. Alternatively, you can get a family-style dinner from 6pm to 10pm for $75per person. The menu offers standard holiday fare, with items including sage and rosemary basted turkey breast and crispy Brussels sprouts with lemon vinaigrette and parmesan.
